Mandie Griffith: Assistant Director

Mandie joined the staff of Academie de Ballet in 2022 and counts it a true blessing to serve alongside Director Melissa Moore, whose leadership and love for the studio continue to be a daily encouragement. She is also deeply grateful for the legacy of ADB’s founder, Arnora Hummel, whose vision created a space where both excellence in dance and discipleship in Christ beautifully intertwine.

With a background in both education and ministry, Mandie has spent many years teaching preschool, guiding students through the AWANA program, and serving in various children’s ministry roles. She previously served as the Director of Children’s Ministry at Tapestry Church in Virginia Beach, where her family still attends and remains actively involved. These experiences have deeply shaped her heart for walking alongside others in their spiritual and personal growth. Today, she continues to invest in teaching, speaking, and small group discipleship—always with a desire to point others to the love and hope found in Christ. During the summer months, Mandie enjoys partnering with local churches through Vacation Bible School ministry, seeing it as a meaningful way to support families and share the love of Jesus with the community.

In 2025, Mandie was honored to receive the Esther Award—an unexpected recognition she accepted with deep gratitude and a prayerful heart, desiring, like Queen Esther, to remain faithful in whatever roles God calls her to “for such a time as this.”

At ADB, Mandie plays a vital role in supporting the studio’s daily operations and enjoys leading student devotionals, especially during the summer intensives. She is continually inspired by how God uses dance to touch students’ hearts and considers it a joy to be part of their growth and journey.

Mandie lives in Chesapeake with her husband, Jeremiah, and their five daughters—four of whom dance at ADB. She’s also a proud student in the Teen/Adult program, where ballet and tap have captured her heart. Dance has become a joy-filled part of her own journey, often following her into the everyday rhythms of life—you may even find her tapping down the grocery store aisles every now and then.
