The Academie de Ballet competition team is made up of intermediate and advanced dancers from the Academie. This dedicated team of dancers is under the direction of Melissa Moore. The competition team rehearses on weekends and travels to at least 4 regional competitions and 1 National competition each year. Some dancers compete only in group routines. Int/adv dancers are often assigned solos, duets, and trios as well.
Our dancers are well-rounded and compete in many categories such as Ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, and specialty tumbling.
Dancers are selected by the director each year from students at Academie de Ballet. They must meet level requirements to be considered. Each dancer competing in anything except tap must have a minimum of one year of training completed in ballet 3/4 or higher. Dancers are encouraged to study all subjects during the week at the Academie.
