Junior Intensive – 3 Full Weeks

Levels 1-3

Monday through Friday 9:30 am – 2:30 pm

Senior Intensive – 3 Full Weeks

Levels 3/4-Pre-Professional

Monday through Friday 9:30 am – 4:30 pm

Workshop performance for family and friends at the end of the 3 week intensive.

Levels (for students new to Academie de Ballet) will be determined by the instructors/owner on the first day of intensive. Current students will be placed in the level of pointe training they will be enrolled in for Fall 2018.


2017 Instructors

Anna A. Perkovskaya
Academie de Ballet is proud to announce the return of a rising star in Russian Ballet education in the person of Anna A. Perkovskaya to our 2016 Summer Intensive. A graduate of the Kiev State Choreographic College, Ms. Perkovskaya is a soloist with the world renowned Moscow Academic Music Theater. She was a featured teacher in both classical dance at the famed Lavrovskiy Ballet School and the Moscow Academie of Education of Natalia Nesterova. A gifted performer as well as teacher, Ms. Perkovskaya has had featured roles in Russian productions of “The Nutcracker”, “Cinderella”, “The Seagull”, “Swan Lake”, “Le Corsair”, and more than a dozen more major ballet productions. Ms. Perkovskaya has over 15 years experience in teaching dance and theater to both professional dancers and the youth of Russia and will make a great addition to the staff of our 2016 Summer intensive.



Andrei Yemelianov
Trained at the Kiev Choreographic Institute in the Ukraine. Andrei has danced with the Jewish Independent Theater and Donetsk Ballet, the Richmond Ballet, Masterworks’ production of Hadassah, One Nation Under God. Most recently,he choreographed and performed in Storyland Christmas, The Christmas Gift, Lily and the Gypsies and Eternal Covenant. He is currently Ballet Master at Academie de Ballet and has prepared many students for their scholarships, universities and careers in dance.


Laura Payne
Laura is a graduate of The Governor School for the Arts and The University of the Arts in Philadelphia where she earned her BFA in Modern Dance Performance and received the Top Choreographer award of her graduating class. Laura Payne has over 30 years of dance training and performing experience in the Hampton Roads area and throughout the East Coast. She has performed professionally with Group Motion and Winged Women in Philadelphia, The Virginia Opera and Second Wind Dance Co.


Melissa Moore
Melissa has been a dance educator since 1984. She served as a circuit judge for dance competitions and has worked with Masterworks as a lead choreographer for Jazz, Tap, Lyrical Ballet, acrobatics and Musical Theater. With over 32 years of teaching experience, Melissa has taught in both public and private schools, including the Governor’s School for the Performing Arts and Salem High School’s Magnet Program. She is the studio administrator/manager and continues to mentor other teachers and teach advanced students part-time. Melissa is our Competition Team Director. Her expertise enables many students to pursue professional dance careers.


 Viktoriya Mills
Viktoriya Mills is a professional Ballet dancer from Belarus. She graduated from the National Ballet College of Belarus where she earned her diploma. Viktoriya was accepted to Bolshoi Belarusian Theater immediately upon graduation. In her career, she has had many opportunities to work with talented choreographers from all over the world, as well as travel to many countries. Later on, Viktoriya joined Christian Ballet Company in the U.S., and the year 2000 she became a teacher at  Academie de Ballet in Chesapeake, Virginia. She teaches all levels of ballet, and is truly passionate to share her knowledge with dancers of all ages. She also has a daughter who, like her Mom, loves and appreciates the art of dance, and is a little ballerina herself.
